SUSTAINABLE BLUE

With the purpose of minimize the impact in the environment, Pousada Azul Maria was projected with the concept of sustainability. The architecture based in the use of wood elected just certified species by the Forest Stewardship Council; the ecologic Eucalyptus; and pieces descendant of demolished constructions. 

The electricity profits of the plentiful natural local light. The boards of solar energy provide 85% of the healing of Pousada, the rest comes from the support by gas. In the underground of the construction, there is an enormous box with three filters that pick the rain's water – which is reused in the bathroom's pot and in the plant's sprinkle.

The same reasoning was extended to the lightning design. The use of led lamps was a priority, instead of the incandescent type. Concerning the rest, Pousada Azul Maria has selective recycle bins and thank the guests for respecting nature and keeping intact the small  portion of Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlântica, in Portuguese) that rested until our times.
